Barnabas was known as the "son of encouragement.” Barnabas is the perfect example of a balconyperson. A balcony person is someone who stands in the balcony, watching you run the race of your life, and they cheer you on; they believe in you. They're realistic about your falings and your shortcomings, but they also have a vision for what God made you to be. We all need balcony people in our lives.
But more than just having balcony people in our lives, we are called to be balcony people to others. We are called to be a Barnabas to someone else, to be a son or daughter of encouragement to those around us.

Even though the common zombie is slow they can still surround you and trap you in a corner. In his latest sermon in the series How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse, Rev. Marty Vershel shows that if we disconnect from community or each other, we are easy targets to become spiritual zombies. In God’s Kingdom, together is better.

Continuing the sermon series How to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse, Rev. Marty Vershel preaches that the spiritually dead (Zombies) can surprise you at any moment . You may need to make a fast get away. As well as following Rule #1 to out-run the zombies, you'll also need to be light on your feet, and that means reducing the weight of the objects you are carrying with you. Many of us carry around too much stuff that we get bogged down, making us easy targets for the Zombies that are all around us. Too often, we get bogged down with "stuff” that slows us down. The Gospel of Mark tells the story of a man who could not let go his stuff. (NOTE: The website that Marty speaks of is: http://www.globalrichlist.com)
